The IRS generally says 3 years for records supporting a return and at least 4 for employment tax records. The Texas Comptroller asks sellers to keep sales and use tax records for at least 4 years. Ask your tax preparer what applies to you.
It can, but the Grayson Central Appraisal District says Texas raised the business personal property exemption to $125,000 from January 1, 2026. If your business property is valued above that, inventory and supplies on hand count, and the district's property tax form is due April 15.
